Dave Rodak — August 2, 3: Dave, layers of paint on your door interior surface should be removed with a paint stripper or you can have them blasted with a light media like glass bead or soda. If you do it yourself you should take care not to scrape the surface with a metal putty knife or similar object.

Paint remover works great for breaking down those layers, then follow up with a fine brass wire wheel and then finish with a lacquer thinner and scotch-brite pad. JoeResto — August 3, 9: Regarding removing of old paint from interior panels.
