Installed all of my third party apps. Works with a wired controller for games, great for emulators. Will buy again from U2C when its time to upgrade. This box is quick too. This is the box with the best specs, gb external storage is another reason i chose this box.

Update after a couple of week of use: Box still working great. Although it did lock up on me a couple of times. Anyways, now I'm just using the Favormates air mouse, and it's working great. Streaming HD movies and shows working very good with Wifi.
No need to use the LAN cable thus far. Once in a while I get the air remote to not work correctly on boot up, but after re-boot, the box works great. I noticed that box does get hot if left on over night, so I just turn it off every night after use.
It only takes a few seconds to boot up anyways, so not a big deal. I'm very happy with performance thus far. I will be buying the new Amazon fire TV when it comes out in a few months and do a comparison at that time. Comment 26 people found this helpful.

All functioned as one would expect. This 8 core CPU is a big advantage in this regard and I noted many cores were running flat out with apps running in background typical for Android. Very impressive, but the unit is not without issues.
The plastic bottom has plenty of ventilation holes but the sides and top have only those providing access to the abundant ports which are NOT enough. This, along with the fan, lowered the CPU temperature by more than 22F which should give you a pretty good idea of how needed the ventilation was.
If you try this solution, you will need to periodically blow out the dust using canned air every few months, but that is a good idea for all of your electronics. Watch out for the thin wire connecting a component GPS ant?
Other apps were sideloaded or gotten from other Android stores like Aptoide. It was an updater for one of the apps on the system and was likely a false positive but I just canned it to be safe. If I find any other issues or kudos to add over the next few months, they will be added but overall I am very pleased with the low price and excellent capabilities of this TV Box.

These phones are usually not very good quality or performance. Qualcomm is US company that make high-end SoC for current flagship devices. They cost more, but are also better quality and performance.
There are even few years old dual-core Snapdragon's that are better in terms of performance than new quad-core MTKs. So which is better? If you want cheap phone, then MTK. If you want better performance, then Snapdragon.
You need source code and active development for your device? Then you may go for Snapdragon one, but it depends on device. Also depends on device. I dont know exactly which one is more power efficient, but i think Snapdragon would be.
