I bought this computer 1 year and 4 months ago from Amazon. The computer seemed to work well until 2 months ago when the computer started slowing down dramatically.
I did all the obvious things to increase the speed using software like CCleaner, Norton Security Deluxe and a number of Microsoft tools. I've run Norton's deep cleaner antivirus and Microsoft's Defender deep cleaner antivirus programs.
Just lately I ran Microsoft's 8. I used their FAQs, their email service, and talked to 2 service reps. The expert information they gave me came directly from the computer manual and I received no insightful information, only generalities and excuses about why they could not answer my questions.
Dell's website has changed dramatically and no longer gives much technical information about its products. For example, When I bought my first 2 sticks of ddr3 ram, they gave reasons why I had to buy 2 sticks and not just 1 if I was upgrading ram memory.
The website also would not allow me to buy just 1 stick. I'm glad they did that. Know you can buy 1 stick. If you are upgrading ram memory with one stick, my computer will not work. Because to upgrade XPS x memory you must always use 2 same-sized dd3 memory sticks.

I thought that a newer card would work faster because it is meant to run with in a cpi x16 slot.. My new card has gddr5 memory and was rated at 2. The new card was dumbed down to x8. Dell says its the card how can that be when gddr5 memory is the latest and can be used in 3,0 rated express slots?
I contacted EVGA and they said it was the computer because the card can be 'dumbed' down by the motherboard. None of the Dell reps ever tried to see if the driver supplying the dedicated pci express slot is a pci x8 driver.
I sound like I'm whining and I probably am. If anybody reading this review has any ideas let me know. I do not know what I should do to get my computer up to speed and I don't know if I can get a PCI express driver to update my dedicated graphics card slot.
Comment One person found this helpful. This product delivers exactly what it promises. I read numerous reviews of it on Amazon and found no surprises except for the doozy noted below. Reviews indicated this pc arrives with little bloatware, so I should have been suspicious when I immediately noticed about a dozen icons on the desktop for gMail, Facebook, Fast Browser, and other programs I can't recall or didn't recognize.
But the pc setup was a snap and very fast, as anticipated, so I plowed ahead. When I began running into issues accessing sites on the web, I noticed there was something strange about Internet Explorer and its icon.
Apparently it had been hijacked by Fast Browser, so I set about trying to rid the pc of that. I finally got it uninstalled, but it left a toolbar which continued to cause problems. I was on the verge of re-packing the pc and returning it to Amazon, but decided to try the Restore and Recovery option first.
After that, it was smooth sailing. I am certain those programs did not install while I was setting up the computer, so I am speculating that the pc itself or at least the hard-drive had been returned to either Dell or Amazon before it found its way to me, even though it was sold to me as "new".
I am unhappy about that, but have no way to know who to be angry at about it. Others seem impressed by the "tray" on top of the case with the two USB connectors, apparently designed for resting phones etc while they are charging.
I have long used the top of my pc case to rest my keyboard when not in use. I quickly found that I could not do that with a USB wire plugged in at the required angle on the top. I filled them up and can still rest my keyboard on top, so I'm very happy with those connectors.
The monitor does have a dvi-d connection. I finally located the DVI cable that came with the monitor and to my delight it not only fit the XPS, but my monitor was immediately recognized and functioning. Overall, the setup could not have been easier--except for that one little issue.
I also ordered a ssd to install. I found it very easy to install even though I had only been inside a computer case once before. I was heartened to see that most connectors and slots inside were either clearly labeled or very intuitive.
It isn't quite easy enough for a caveman to do it, but it's getting there. With an ssd added, this pc really flies. I quickly discovered why so many people seem to hate Windows 8. I fumbled around 8. I am slowly beginning to use the "new" interface of 8.
In summary, I love the computer itself, but am very aggravated that it seems I was sold a product that had been returned. I am guessing that whoever picked up the Fast Browser via Facebook from what I read about it could not remove it and chose to return the pc instead.
I think this pc will meet my needs for some time. While there is no such thing as "future-proofing" these things, it appears to be easily upgradable and expandable enough to keep me happy for a while.
I would have given this product a lower rating due to my unpleasant experience described above. That issue consumed several hours of my time unnecessarily. Returning it probably would have been an even more aggravating process.

Please try again later. But ultimately a disappointment. Have been using this for about 2 weeks and am very satisfied. The screen unit is nice and lightweight much lighter than the HP Pavilion all-in-one that it replaced.
The performance is good, more than enough for browsing, email, writing documents, viewing photos, watching streaming video and the like. The keyboard and mouse that came with the unit are both corded and fairly low-budget, so I replaced them with one of the Logitech cordless desktop keyboard and mouse package combo units and it immediately worked fine with that after automatically loading the drivers.
It comes preloaded with Windows 10 Home Edition, which I was already familiar with, so no learning curve on that part. All in all a very nice choice, and it was shipped very quickly and arrived sooner than I expected. I have noticed that the performance of this unit is much slower after it's been in sleep mode.
This has become quite a frustration. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of, from increasing the memory up from 4GB to 8GB there is a 2nd, empty SIMM slot on the mainboard all the way to reinstalling Windows 10 after reformatting the hard drive in case some of the preinstalled software was slowing things down.

I have had the computer for two days now. It was very easy to set up, with step by step instructions. It plays cds and dvds, and the sound and picture quality are excellent! I had never used Windows 10 before, but it's not hard to get used to.

When i got mine I completely uninstalled all the junk programs. Comment 19 people found this helpful. I had this computer for nearly a week and finally managed to solve my issues with slow load-times and spotty service.
I even bought a Wifi extender which I still recommend because my home office is in a dead area. If you have an area it's going in that doesn't experience any dead spots please disregard this review. I unknowingly plugged in the computer and began the rather simple set up steps in a dead area.
Once set up I was impressed with how easy everything was, then the problems began. The next day when I set out to install my programs Microsoft Word, email, etc I noticed an extreme LAG! Web browsers just would not load.
I was constantly seeing a loading wheel of doom. I felt like I was in Hell. Was this my punishment for eternity? This went on for days and I was frustrated, but understanding, and remedied the issue by purchasing a wifi extender and set that up when that arrived.
My wifi ran a lot more smoothly, even my old laptop I purchased it in ran quicker with the new extender. After about a half hour of usage my internet browser just refused to load!! I had to restart the computer.
I about returned this thing. Did some research that evening on my cell phone tested my wifi on multiple devices and with the new extender everything ran BETTER so it wasn't MY wifi network or router this time.
After some more digging the next day I decided to reset my Windows I came to the conclusion that the first time around when I set up my new computer I had set it up in a dead zone and was not properly or consistently hooked up to my wifi and something just went wrong in the installation process.
Today, Christmas Day, I reset my Windows 10 and everything is functioning as it should! So why the 5-star rating?? The computer is a dream if it is set up properly!! I have actually enjoyed Windows 10 so far on this All-In-One versus on my laptop when I was hijacked and forced into upgrading from Windows 7 to the new OS.
My old laptop was an HP Pavilion and trust me I have gotten my money's worth out of it. I am NOT a gamer nor do I utilize a computer for any editing video, music, or image so I cannot attest to how this thing keeps up with those needs.
I needed a basic home computer to utilize for web browsing, classes, and home book-keeping. I should've tested the wifi in the area I was setting it up first-hand, or set it up temporarily next to the router to make sure everything had set up properly without any wifi disruption.
That was on me. I recommend you download an app and test your wifi connection in whatever area of your home you decide to set up your All-In-One Computer. My home office is down a long hallway, and there are at least 4 walls, a water heater and a furnace between the computer and my wifi router I wish I had known a year ago when I had the cable guy set up the router in the living room.

Maybe ya'll just have some bad WIFI cause my computer turns on quickly and loads websites quickly. I use it for homework and YouTube and I edit videos on it and it's pretty fast so when reading the reviews it scared me but I took a risk, so if you are thinking about buying this computer make sure you look at all the people who said it works great too and don't get to hung up on the people who said it sucks.

If you were looking for a good all in one computer, something to get the daily tasks done with, then this might be it.
Don't buy this computer expecting to run all the latest video games at high frames per second. Because it won't do that, but it has just enough processing power to multitask with all of your daily things that you do such as email, browsing the Internet, Running Microsoft office programs.
